Bristow Supports Client with Special Mission
Bristow recently flew a special flight for ExxonMobil from Guyana's Ogle Airport to the northern village of Kumaka, where students from nearby Santa Rosa Primary and Secondary schools were given the opportunity to see a helicopter up-close. While the client attended a meeting with community leaders nearby, Pilots Jimmie Jacobs and Shawn Crandall enjoyed showing the Leonardo AW139 helicopter to the children, many who had never touched a helicopter before -- letting them sit in the seats, try on the head phones and pose for a number of photos.
"Your pilots were 'rock stars' when we landed at the village today," said ExxonMobil's operations manager. "They did a great job of interacting with the many school children and fostering goodwill in the local community."
Bristow has been supporting operations at Guyana since July 2015, utilizing three AW139s for an oil and gas exploration campaign in addition to search and rescue. The company has approximately 25 employees based at Georgetown, Guyana.
