Students from Clontarf Foundation Visit Bristow’s Karratha Base

Bristow employees welcomed aboriginal students from the Clontarf Foundation to their base at Karratha on October 19, 2016. During the visit, the students learned about the many roles that are vital for helicopter operations, including pilot, engineer and support positions.

Engineer Jeff Klotter, Pilot in Charge Jim Bennison, Base Administrator Julia Garland and Stores Person Fred Rivers guided the students through their tour.

“It was a pleasure to host the students at our Karratha facility and give them the opportunity to see a helicopter up close,” said Klotter. “It’s important to spark aviation interest in young kids and share some of my passion with them, especially when they hadn’t considered this career path before.”

“Thank you to the Bristow staff for giving our boys the opportunity to visit with Bristow helicopters,” said Clontarf Foundation Operations Officer Tyson Martin. “We have had great feedback from the boys and some may also be looking at possibly future employment in the aviation industry. This was a huge step for our boys!”
