Bristow Engineer Cycles for Charity

Bristow Engineer Dave Clarke, based at St Athan Search And Rescue, was recently joined by The Apprentice star Alex Mills, ITV Wales presenter Carl Edwards and Made In Cardiff TV's Mariclare Carey-Jones, who helped support Clarke in his bid to fundraise for charity.

Clarke and his supporters spent an afternoon at the Marks and Spencer supermarket in Cardiff, where they rode spin bikes non-stop for five hours. Funds raised will be donated to the charities Above and Beyond and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Speaking about his fundraising efforts, Clarke says: "Above and Beyond is a charity that's close to my heart because of the help my niece Flora received at Bristol Children's hospital. I'm grateful for the opportunity to raise money for these two great charities. The day was a great success and I'm already looking forward to the next event."

Clarke’s next challenge is to cycle from Bristol to Paris in April 2016 for Above and Beyond. His donation will go towards the provision of a scanner to the cardiac department at Bristol's Children's Hospital. The unit helped save the life of Clarke’s five year old niece, and cares for hundreds of children from across the South West and South Wales who are in need of cardiac care.
