Texas to Tanzania Project Culminates with the Delivery of Donations to Tanzanian Orphans
Update: Mandy Stein, founder and executive director of Neema International, visited Bristow’s Houston office to personally thank employees for their generous efforts with the Texas to Tanzania project.
The Texas to Tanzania project – which began as a school donation drive and blossomed into an international effort with the school, Bristow and Ceva Logistics working together – has come to a successful end with the delivery of the supplies to an orphanage in Tanzania.
On Saturday, August 16, a Bristow helicopter was the highlight of the day for the orphanage and the residents of the village when it delivered the supplies.
"It was a team effort," said Other International Business Unit (OIBU) Department Manager Clayton Ray, who organized Bristow's portion of the project. "Captain Steve Martin, First Officer JP Coombes, crew member Steve Dodd with OIBU SAR, Pilot Scott Fielding, Tanzania Chief Engineer Tom Barker and Engineer Karl Johnson played key roles in carrying out this project.
“I'd also like to thank Vince Ratclife, Country Manager in Tanzania, and Deven Kansara with Everett for helping get the shipment from customs and setting up the delivery with Neema International."
